Every year my sister has us come down to help the kids color easter eggs. Mya (almost 2) and I ate several of them - that girl loves her hardboiled eggs. I kind of watched for a bit, and at the end jumped in to make my annual easter egg. Pretty nice one eh? :)

Burnt Fig Newtons
So I wrote Nabisco today because of my burnt Fig Newtons. I threw in a line at the end that said "I was especially disappointed because Fig Newtons are my favorite!".. Which they are, no lie.. i love them. The kind folks at Nabisco wrote me back - here's what they had to say:

I'm sorry for your experience with Fat Free Fig NEWTONS Fruit Chewy Cookies. The problem you described sounds like there was a possible mechanical failure at our facility. I am sending you reimbursement via first class mail, which you should receive within 7-10 business days.
We value the quality of the products that leave our facility. We give careful attention to each step of our manufacturing process. Samples from each production run are evaluated before we ship them, in an effort to prevent any unsatisfactory products from entering distribution.
Mistakes can sometimes occur on our production lines. We try to prevent this by stationing inspectors at various points along the production lines, and their duties include watching for malfunctions. Also, our quality control staff makes regular rounds throughout the production area during the day in order to ensure that production equipment is functioning properly.

Holy Florida.
Couldn't have picked a better week for a trip to Fort Myers Florida. The weatherman kept talking about rain, but it never came. Instead, it was high 70's to mid 80's all week with an awesome breeze. I'm sure it's not like this all the time down here,.. but Jen insists on getting jobs and staying here. :)
