Daisy turns 6 years old today. She definitely still acts like a puppy, but has an old bitchy lady side to her too. Just remember, if you ever come over.. keep your hands up in the air, she loves to bite fingers.. and not in a playful way either! :) Other than that small fault, she's an awesome dog.
I'd have to say this is the first Will Ferrell movie I've seen in theaters. I won tickets to a pre-screening of the movie "Step Brothers" and got to see the movie in it's entirety last night. I'd have to say it was pretty good. Silly like all the rest of his movies, but if you need a good laugh I'd recommend it.
I read about these LOL Cats on MonroeTalks.com and checked out the site. I saw it had an RSS feature, so I added it to my feeds. Surprisingly, these stupid cat pictures have become a daily routine for me to check out in the morning between beer forum sites and friends blogs. I don't know why they entertain me, but they do. Don't even ask me about the language used, I've yet to understand that.. Click here to see more.
I saw on CNN this morning some girl in New Zealand didn't like her name, so she's changing it. Her name: Talula Does the Hula From Hawaii.
New Zealand folks must be on crack. Check out some of these names that have either been rejected or accepted by New Zealand Governtment: Benson and Hedges (twins named after a brand of cigarettes, Violence,Number 16 Bus Shelter (my guess is this is where that baby was made), Six-Cylinder, Ford Cars, Fish and Chips, Yeah Detroit, Stallion, Twisty Poi and my favorite: Sex Fruit.
Now come on Jen.. is Chuck or Sue really that bad?! ;)
Since the beer festival in Ypsi is this weekend, I figured I should post a video from a couple years ago. This was taken at Mugsy's after the beer fest.
If you're wondering, we did end up having to get a new camera. Stupid thing!
My computer has a little camera in it that takes pictures with a program called Photo Booth. I always forget I have it, but remembered and figured I'd take a shot of myself while I'm out here sweating. I started brewing almost an hour ago, and after I started, realized it's way too hot to be standing over a boiling kettle. Why I decided to smoke a cigar, .. I'm not sure. This is probably my 2nd one of the year. It's pretty good though, so I won't complain. I think what would cool me off now is a nice cold pint of homebrew. :)
That's right, we've taken another plunge in life, this time, parenthood. Jen is going to have a baby, she's due January 29th 2009. We're both really excited. The video you'll see below was taken a couple weeks ago at our first ultrasound. Jen is 3 months along now and has been doing very well. She didn't get the morning sickness that some gals get, but she has started saying things like "Rob - the baby's hungry.." or.. "Rob, the baby doesn't like the music that loud." I've been a trooper though, pacifying most of her needs. If you ever want to know what I'm like when I have a simple head cold, ask Jen.. it's like I'm dying and I'm completely helpless, so, to a point I can understand. :)
Anyhow, that's the news, I'm sure I'll be posting more on this exciting adventure as time goes. The name thing has been fun too - Jen's not liking any of my picks - apparently, Chuck or Sue aren't suitable for her tastes. The name Chuck is going to become extinct if we don't fight to save it now!! Ah well, maybe I'll get to at least give him/her a mohawk.
Daisy and I got a head start on the Fourth of July weekend by taking off Wednesday night for camp. Jen's coming down Saturday with her sister. On the way down, we drove through some light storms. Daisy was not happy with those pesky windshield wipers.. as you can see here.
