10k is done. went alright.. finished running a 7:55-ish pace. haven't got final time yet.. but damn am i sweating!

(edited) - My sister and I both ran this. She had a great run coming in 211th out of 526 in her age group. Her time was 60:32 with an avg. pace of 9:03. I managed to finish in 48:54 coming in 80th out of 403 with an avg. pace of 7:53. No wonder I'm sore today!

My buddy Nick, who is doing a few yr. stint up north right now introduced me to some badass metal bands. I remember sitting in the backseat of his truck, driving along, listening to this song for the first time. Nick was head banging and shaking his fist in the air to this song as he drove down the highway.. I thought, holy crap, that song rocks.. I need to remember that band! Since then, they've been a favorite. When Nick comes home, this song will be-a-rockin for him..

A tip for Verizon users out there

My phone has been acting up lately. I've been getting text messages a day after people sent them. I called and had probably the best conversation ever with a customer service representative. She gave me the following tip:

Since I hadn't updated my phone in so long, she had me do the following:

*228 - then choose option 1. This reprograms the phone.

She then went on to explain, you should run an update on your phone every single month since Verizon is constantly updating towers all over the country on a daily basis.

*228 - then choose option 2. This updates the service with area towers.

I'm setting a calendar reminder once a month to run the update.

I lost a truck sale!

I put on my voice mail a universal message for every caller. It says something like "Hello, the caller you are trying to reach is unavailable. Please leave a message. And, don't forget to vote for Obama! I have my number in the paper trying to sell our truck. Maybe he'll be calling me back tomorrow... Take a listen:
